You’ll have a long drive from Fes to Marrakech through the beautiful city of Chefchaouen, then through the fertile agricultural plains before arriving in Marrakech.

Itinerary

Day 1: Tangier - Chefchaouen

Meet & greet upon arrival in the Tangier Ibn Battuta Airport, Tangier Ville Port, Tangier Med Port or pick up from your accommodation in Tangier. Have a nice drive through the spectacular Rif Mountains to the charming blue-painted city of Chefchaouen. You may want to spend the rest of the day exploring what this beautiful has to offer. Your walking tour of the Medina may start from the Utta El-Hammam, which is located in the heart of the old Medina with the perching Kasbah being painted differently. 

Visit the Ras el-Ma Spring with offering breathtaking views of the whole valley along a cultural hub with women washing clothes and carpets. You may want to walk back to the Square and have a nice dinner in one of the lined restaurants while sampling the local culture.

Day 2: Chefchaouen - Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

After having breakfast in your Riad/hotel, you’ll head further south with a journey filled with interesting discoveries. You’ll have a guided tour of the Roman Ruins of Volubilis where you be taken back in time while learning about the Roman Civilisation that settled in here and how their presence have shaped the Moroccan identity. Continue on the track to the city of Meknes that goes back to the 17th century. 

Meknes was founded by the Alaouite Sultan Moulay Ismail who successfully turned it into the Moroccan Versaille. Stop by the impressive Bab (Gate) Mansour that was built by a Portuguese engineer who was a prisoner in return of getting his freedom. Stretch your legs in the el-Hedim Square, then the olive market before driving to the royal granaries and stables. It’s in here the Sultan Moulay Ismail used to feed and look after his 12 000 horses…Drive to Fes through the highway.

Day 3: Guided Tour of Fes

Today, you’ll spend most of the day exploring what the spiritual city of Fes has to offer with a local tour guide whose main mission is to unveil the mysteries of the city. Drive uphill where you can enjoy the panoramic view of the Fes el-Bali (oldest Fes), which is a UNESCO listed World Heritage Site being the largest car-free district in the world. Visit the Mellah (former Jewish Quarter) after taking pictures by the golden gates of the Royal Palace.

You’ll have an interesting guided walking tour of Fes Medina with its countless labyrinthine alleyways that are shrouded in mystery. Life is very simple as if you are in Medieval Times with just mules and donkeys are the only means of transportation serving a large population. Visit the Museums, Medersas (Koranic Schools) including the Al-Qarawiyyin University, which is the oldest formal university in the world. Visit the Chouara Tanneries and learn how the best quality of leather is being made using traditional methods.

Day 4: Fes - Beni Mellal - Marrakech

Today, you’ll have a long drive to Marrakech through the charming city of Ifran, which was listed as the 2nd cleanest city in the world in 2015. Drive through the lush Middle Atlas Mountains, then through the fertile agricultural plain before arriving in Marrakech in the late afternoon.

For citizens of many countries, you do not need a visa to enter Morocco. You will receive an entry stamp in your passport upon arrival.

You do not need to apply for a tourist visa for the Morocco Tour if you are a citizen of the United States, Canada, Australia, Great Britain or any of the other countries listed here.

You will need a passport that is valid for six months beyond your stay and a round-trip airline ticket. The passport must have at least one blank page.

If you have US dollars, Euros, or British Pounds, you can exchange money at an exchange bureau upon arrival at the airport or at your hotel but the rate won’t be quite as good as exchange bureaus we’ll find elsewhere. Our guide can help find the best place to exchange your cash for local currency.

There is often a problem making a change in Morocco, and it can be difficult to pay with large banknotes, so be sure to get smaller denomination banknotes (10s and 20s) as this will make your life easier when paying for inexpensive items such as drinks and souvenirs.

Yes. We will be spending just one or two nights maximum in the Sahara and while we will be traveling to the tented camp via camel (optional), the luggage will be taken via vehicle or you can securely lock it in the hotel/Riad in charge of managing the desert camp.
